The Google’s self-driving cars again.
Slow and steady wins the race, well not always. Definitely, not in the case of Google’s self-driving cars. Look who is back in the news again- The Google’s self-driving car. Although, the previous accidents that this vehicle was involved were mainly due the manual-drivers, this time the car is purely at fault. The car apparently had to be drawn up by the police for moving very slowly.
In Mountain view, California, the police had to pull over a -Google’s self driving car, as it was driving very slowly. The car is said to be a much more of a careful driver when compared to the human drivers. A Google+ post joked about it- Bet the humans do not get pulled over for that too often… Indeed, we do not. Maybe the cars are just over-cautious in an attempt to beat the human drivers cautiousness. There is also a report submitted by the California department of Motor vehicles to support this as it clearly mentions the car as – Over cautious. Why all this fuss about a slow moving car of all? Well, the officer had said that the car had to pulled over as the traffic was building behind this slow moving Google’s car.

Can’t get more upsetting, we already have more and enough traffic and the technology should help to reduce it, not build it. We speak about conserving time, space, energy and the car defies it all. The idea of this car dates back to the beginning of this millennium and ever since then we have seen improvements in this field. Google’s car, commonly referred as the SDC is a project belonging to Google X and it is the most advanced form of the autonomous self driving cars. Let us hope for the vehicle to improve over time till it is fully functional.
The actual cause…
Google’s car strictly follows the traffic rules and abide by the safety regulations. However, it has to share the road with human drivers who have a tendency to err. This can be a big limitation for the vehicle. Even with all these limitations the car is believed to be fully functional by the end of 2020. That’s all about the Google’s SDC for now.
